Everest Base Camp via Tibet

The trip starts from Lhasa, the capital city of Tibet and takes you through the closest possible path near the summit of Everest that any non-climber can go. The journey starting from Lhasa towards the Everest follows with visit to some of the oldest monastic centers in Gyantse and Shigatse traversing through incredible villages, flora, fauna and magnificent view of the Himalayas and the Tibetan plateau.

Itinerary

Day 1/4: Arrive Lhasa (3660m), visit Potala palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor town, Drepung and Sera monastery
Day 5/7: Drive to Gyantse (3950m) 261 km – visit Gyantse Fort, Palkhor chode monastery, Kumbum and, drive to Shigatse (3900m) 90km – visit Tashilungpo monastery
Day 8: drive to Shegar (4050m) 244km and Tingri,
Day 9/11: Trek to Rongbuk (5000m), view north face of Everest
Day 12:  Trek to Everest Base Camp (5500m)
Day 13/21: Explore spectacular glacial terrain, ascend to Lho La and proceed to advance base camp.
Days 22/23: drive to Zangmu
Day 24: drive to Kathmandu
Days 25: In Kathmandu, trip concludes
