The 230 park of Makalu Barun National Park was established in 1992 wordered by Arun Kosi, the Nepal’s eight National Park, lies in the east and the Sagarmatha National Park on the west. To the south the park is bordered by an 830 conservation area.

The park’s headquarters is in Khandbari. Park personnel check your trekking permit and national park ticket the entrance station in Sedan.

The weather in the Arun vally is usually more rainy than in the Everest region, although it’s drier in the upper Barun Valley. Mid October is considered the best time to make treks in this region. The route down the Arun kosi is particularly different in early October, before the harvest, because all possible campsites remain planted with rice.
